Meet Lisa
Lisa Kamran is a yoga instructor, mindfulness educator and sacred activist. Lisa has always found sanctuary amongst nature which inspires the way she is in connection with others, attuned, grounded and patient. Lisa’s offerings are also rooted in trauma-informed and community- centered practices, leaning into the whole-being experience.
Lisa’s personal experiences with anxiety and chronic pain throughout her life often created feelings of being disconnected and overwhelmed. During university, while living abroad in the Netherlands, Lisa was introduced to the art of yoga and meditation. For Lisa, the practice felt like an invitation to come home to the body, and it became a not only a practice to support her in her physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing, but a way of living. Her interest in diving deeper into the practice rippled into years of practicing, absorbing, and sharing yoga, meditation and mindfulness practices. Lisa’s playfulness and authenticity allows her to be a dynamic and compassionate space holder for youth and adults.
Her calling to this work has brought her around the world with the wisdom offered through teacher training and retreats exploring the practices of Prana Vinyasa, Hatha Yoga, Vipassana, MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction), Mindful Education, Sound Healing, Trauma-Informed mindfulness, Transformative Educational Leadership Fellowship, and prenatal yoga. Lisa respects the roots and the wisdom of these ancient practices and offers her gratitude to the many teachers and cultures that have tended to the contemplative practices in authentic, safe, and accessible ways. She continues to lean into this work now on the Indigenous land of Toronto, Ontario with her partner, Fandi, and pup, Juno. Lisa recently completed her MSW at the University of Toronto. She hopes to invite individuals, couples and families explore yoga philosophy, somatic-based, and eco-therapeutic practices to navigate the many tides that are experienced through love, change, family systems, trauma, and everyday living.
Moving together,
Lisa
